My favorite tenor

I feel sad for the passing away of my favorite tenor. If God would sing his voice should sound like his... I've been watching all the possible IN MEMORIAM's on the different television stations way after midnight and I'll follow the service in Modena's cathedral on Saturday afternoon. I guess it's age that makes me so sentimental.

Oh Yes, Gilberte, it is a very sad day to loose such a wonderful man with a beautiful voice. I agree, God would sound like him when he sings. Best wishes..and have a great trip and celebrate your wedding anniversary xoxoxo Lisa

My father introduced me to classical music, ballet and the opera.

He adored Pavarotti. My father died on August 8th, 2007 but before he died, father would sit on his chair and would try to sing silently to Mr. Pavarotti's music. He was so frustrated that he couldn't reach those high notes.

I have such wonderful memories of my father dying yet trying to sing. When Mr Pavarotti died, i wrote to his family to offer condolences and to let his wife know what he had done for my father. His wife wrote back about a month later.
I treasure the little note card, not because of my father, nor Mr Pavarotti, it was the gift of music and both of these two men, who were worlds apart, yet both were united in music.

To this day, I can not listen to Pavarotti's music because I can see, and I can still hear my father crying and trying to sing the arias.

Pavarotti's death was a loss to us all. In more ways than anyone can imagine.
