Bistre portait

Today was one of the best August Sundays as to the weather. This morning we went to see the start of the Iron Man Triathlon ... Big applause for the athletes ! This evening Antwerp is showing off with Tango dancing on the other side of the River. Plenty of events but the afternoon was too hot and I painted this quick sketchy portrait in bistre. Don't really know how it's called in English but it is a natural product used for darkening wood, furniture etc. You only need a few grains mixed with water according tot the strenght of the color you aim for.
